The Miami-based threesome the Committee is best known for their work in arrears the soundboard, producing multi-platinum artists like Trick Daddy and Trina. In 2001, the Collective linked forces with several Miami performers to form Iconz. The Committee, along with Luc Duc, Stage McCloud, Bull Dog, Chapter, Tony Manshino, Screwface, and Supastarr, released their debut Street Money. Like very much of the hip-hop advent out of Miami, their euphony is weighed down on booty-shaking beatniks just also shows surprising lyrical acquirement.

Watch Santogold talk about her recent chart success at this year's Leeds Festival

Santogold has revealed she's chuffed with her success this year, albeit a little surprised.


Speaking to NME.COM at this year's (August 22- 24) Leeds Festival the isaac Bashevis Singer, who released her debut self-titled album earlier this year, modestly admits she didn't have any expectations.


She said: "I'm really excited by the response that I've gotten this year and I've been real working really hard to just try and get out and perform because there was a lot of buzz."

Santogold then added: "I didn't really have any expectations I didn't really know what to expect."

Dave Pike has been a consistent vibist through the years without gaining often celebrity. He originally played drums and is self-taught on vibes. Pike touched with his family line to Los Angeles in 1954 and played with Curtis Counce, Harold Land, Elmo Hope, Dexter Gordon, Carl Perkins, and Paul Bley, among others. After moving to New York in 1960 he put an amplifier on his vibes. Pike toured with Herbie Mann during 1961-1964, spent 1968-1973 in Germany (recording with the Kenny Clarke-Francy Boland big band), and then resettled in Los Angeles, playing locally and recording for Timeless and Criss Cross.

Richard's 'Charlie' tattoo turned into fairy

Reality TV star Denise Richards has had a tattoo of her ex-husband Charlie Sheen's name replaced with the image of a fairy.

Richards, who got Sheen's name tattooed on her ankle when they married in 2002, has had the name turned into a fairy.

Footage of the transformation has been used in Richards' new reality show, Denise Richards: It's Complicated.

Richards, 37, told British tabloid The Sun the new design completely covered Sheen's name.

"It’s gorgeous. You can’t even see where it was."

Richards and Sheen have two children together and are embroiled in a bitter custody dispute.

Sheen, 42, recently re-married, tying the knot with Brooke Mueller.

Iron Man First To Cross 300-million Mark





Iron Man has become the golden boy for Marvel Studios, becoming the
first picture of the year to cross the $300-million mark at the domestic box
office. According to Music by Numbers, the film had grossed $299.3 million
through Tuesday and was a sure bet to blow past $300 million on Wednesday or
today (Thursday). Three films grossed more than $300 million in 2007:
Spider-Man 3 ($336.5 million); Shrek the Third ($322.7 million),
and Pirates of the Caribbean: At World's End ($309.4 million).
