Watch Santogold talk about her recent chart success at this year's Leeds Festival

Santogold has revealed she's chuffed with her success this year, albeit a little surprised.

Speaking to NME.COM at this year's (August 22- 24) Leeds Festival the isaac Bashevis Singer, who released her debut self-titled album earlier this year, modestly admits she didn't have any expectations.

She said: "I'm really excited by the response that I've gotten this year and I've been real working really hard to just try and get out and perform because there was a lot of buzz."

Santogold then added: "I didn't really have any expectations I didn't really know what to expect."

Dave Pike has been a consistent vibist through the years without gaining often celebrity. He originally played drums and is self-taught on vibes. Pike touched with his family line to Los Angeles in 1954 and played with Curtis Counce, Harold Land, Elmo Hope, Dexter Gordon, Carl Perkins, and Paul Bley, among others. After moving to New York in 1960 he put an amplifier on his vibes. Pike toured with Herbie Mann during 1961-1964, spent 1968-1973 in Germany (recording with the Kenny Clarke-Francy Boland big band), and then resettled in Los Angeles, playing locally and recording for Timeless and Criss Cross.
